Goods and Gifts That Do Good

It’s Thanksgiving and you’re thinking about all that you’re thankful for, but you’re also thinking: “Oh *&*t, I have to start Christmas shopping.” Us, too. One thing we like to do before starting to check people off our of list is to think about brands we can support that give back.

Here, our list of some of our favorite places to shop for a cause — where we our gifts won’t sacrifice anything in the way of style and will do a little part to make this holiday season better for others around the world.

Cheeky:  Party Goods and Dinnerware

Cheeky creates pretty, well-made and affordable everyday dinnerware, paper goods, and fun party supplies that also help a greater good: fighting hunger. We can get down with that.

Soma Filters

Soma is a design focused, sustainably conscious company that makes water filter systems and sleek, great looking carafs (bye bye Brita). They give a portion of each sale to help give clean water to those around the world who need it. We’ll raise a glass to that.

Sarah’s Bag

You’ve probably seen these beautiful handmade, custom bags in the pages of Vogue or while trolling your favorite online shops like Matches. The Beirut based designer and company help bring underprivileged women into the work force — all of their creations are hand made in Lebanon by local women. Women shopping for women? We’re for that.

Helpsy is an online store that is focused on curating the best apparel, accessories, tech, and beauty products that are both ethically made and fashion forward. Helpsy is bringing awareness to millenials on the hard truths about the retail industry but also showing us how we can be conscious consumers without sacrificing anything in the way of style.

Ash & Ames

This online accessories shop brings us beautifully crafted good from around the world that are made by women. Telling their global stories and giving back a large portion of the proceeds, Ash & Ames is girl power central.

This online boutique has a curated selection of pieces made by beautiful artisans from around the world, which they make sure are ethically sourced and handmade. We love their home goods and gifting pieces that are perfect for all types of occasions. Including the “treat yourself” occasions.
